Top 10 Teachable Moments

Quick-share concepts from today’s episode:

  1. Bring your A-game to every audition.

  2. Understand your target audience. The American market is very different from international. #VOBOSS

  3. In a commercial read, figure out if it is a hard or soft sell. Use that to inform your tone.

  4. Have fun with auditions! #VOBOSS

  5. When delivering two reads, be sure they are different to show your acting range.

  6. If you’re struggling with getting different reads, try changing the speaker + the audience.

  7. For Bilingual Talents, try translating the rhythm + cadence of the Spanish language to your English read.

  8. Listeners should understand the emotion of what you’re saying, even if they don’t speak the language. #VOBOSS

  9. Record your initial reading of the script to see where you instinctually go before you start overthinking it. #VOBOSS

  10. If you believe what you are saying + acting well, what language you’re speaking in becomes irrelevant. #VOBOSS
